Cyrus J Kayvan

About the author

Cyrus J. Kayvan, an Iranian-born filmmaker and writer, discovered his passion for storytelling at a young age, creating his first film on an 8mm camera at just 12 years old. Following the Islamic Revolution and the rise of theocratic tyranny in Iran, Kayvan relocated to France. There, he immersed himself in French literature, language, and eventually entered the real estate business as a house flipper. While living in the picturesque South of France from 1988 to 1998, Kayvan attended the Cannes Film Festival, where his passion for filmmaking was rekindled, prompting him to move to California. In the United States, he made two short films and wrote two feature spec scripts. However, Kayvan found himself hindered by Hollywood bureaucracy and was labeled an unsolicited person with unsolicited material. Undeterred, he began to teach himself political science and delved into the works of Enlightenment philosophers, ranging from Plato to Voltaire, Montesquieu to John Locke. He explored diverse subjects such as world history, Persian and Greek mythology, World War II, and the lives of the US founding fathers. As Amazon introduced its Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) and self-publishing platform, the ever-optimistic Kayvan saw an opportunity to bypass publishers and agents with their walls of rejection. He embarked on writing a political science fiction novel and self-published it on Amazon. Having experienced the revolution in Iran, observed the dissolution of the French parliament by Jacques Chirac, and witnessed the constitutional oversteps by the Bush administration in the US, Kayvan decided to use his experiences and extensive reading to draft his own constitution. He invented the world's first hybrid governing system, which transitions between a republic and a monarchy. Despite still being considered a rejected writer by mainstream publishers, with his works buried in the world of self-publishing, Kayvan remains undeterred. Drawing inspiration from artists like Van Gogh, whose work was only appreciated after his death, he continues to write and self-publish his creations, ensuring the delivery of his craft to the world.
